Social Impact

YMAD seeks to address the negative environmental consequences of poor waste management in 5 informal settlements and townships near Pietermaritzburg in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Through the establishment of Recycling Hubs and the training of local waste champions, YMAD will empower local communities–and the youth in those communities in particular – to act as custodians of the rivers and wetlands in their
environment.
